Dance and Health Hubs

Since 2021, we have been developing dance in geographically focused areas in Lancashire.

Our Dance and Health Hubs bring opportunities to communities in Fleetwood, Preston and East Lancashire.

Fleetwood

We work closely with Healthier Fleetwood to bring a wide range of dance opportunities to local communities. This includes our dance group, Fleetwood Fusion, a weekly class for adults with and without disabilities, our festival programme and our workshops for the local community.

Preston

We have been working in Preston since establishing LPM in 2013, bringing classes, workshops, residencies, professional development opportunities and festivals to the local community.

We work closely with UCLan Dance, the dance department at the university, where we run our weekly class, Neuro-Moves, for people living with neurological conditions.

East Lancashire

As our newest Dance and Health Hub, we continue to build exciting new opportunities for local communities in East Lancashire working with schools and local arts and cultural organisations.

Our weekly Neuro-Moves class for people living with neurological conditions takes place at The Horse and Bamboo in Waterfoot. Other recent projects include Rhythm of the Looms, a collaborative project with Lancashire Textile Collective and Lancashire Textile Biennial at Queen Street Mill, which saw LPM work with Burnley College students to create a new site-specific work for Queen Street Mill.

Since 2025 we have been working with artist Filomena Ianni to support the development of a new specialist class for people with neurological conditions in Grindleton.
