At LPM Dance, we believe everyone has the right to dance. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where dancers of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds can participate fully and safely. With this in mind, we have planned Fleetwood Moves to be a fully accessible and inclusive event. SECTION A: Venue & Mobility
What is Fleetwood Moves?
Fleetwood Moves is a community-focused, free festival aimed at bringing people together through dance and movement, featuring performances and workshops. The event is open to everyone, including people with and without disabilities.
When does the event take place?
Saturday 4th July 12pm – 5pm
Where does the event take place?
Marine Hall, The Esplanade, Fleetwood, Lancashire, FY7 6HF.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes, Marine Hall in Fleetwood is a fully accessible venue offering step-free access, dedicated disabled parking spaces (12 spots) on site, and accessible toilet facilities, allowing visitors to enter, move around, and use facilities without difficulty. All performance stages and workshops are held on flat, firm, or tarmac surfaces.
Fleetwood Beach Wheelchairs: Accessible beach wheelchairs are available nearby, located approximately 0.3 miles away from Marine Hall for those wishing to explore the beachfront. For those travelling via public transport, the venue is reachable by bus or tram, which both have accessibility features for those with limited mobility.

Does the venue have accessible toilet facilities?
Yes, Marine Hall has fully accessible, disabled-friendly toilets. The toilet is wheelchair accessible and has enough space for 1 person and a support person. There is level access to this accessible toilet, a handrail and sufficient turning space in the cubicle for a wheelchair user. There is an emergency alarm. For the event, we will also have 2 accessible portable toilets in the outside areas.
Will there be seating available?
Yes, benches and chairs are provided throughout the site for rest.
SECTION B: Performances & Workshops
Is the dance content accessible to disabled people?
Yes. All performances and workshops are designed to be inclusive, allowing for seated (chair dance) or standing participation. Our workshop leaders are experienced in adapting movements to suit all abilities. Many of our team, artists and performers live with or have experience of working with people living with varying physical and mental conditions. We are well known for our work with SEN schools, and we strive at all times to provide the best possible experience for our visitors. Many of the performances welcome you to join in.
Do I need to book workshops in advance?
No, we have large workshop spaces, led by experienced inclusive practitioners.
Will there be Sign Language Interpreters (BSL)?
Yes, we will have BSL (British Sign Language) interpreters present for main stage performances and scheduled workshops.
SECTION C: Sensory & Comfort
Will there be any quiet zones or sensory retreat areas for attendees with autism, anxiety, or anyone needing a break from noise and crowds?
Yes, a quiet, low-stimulation area is available for anyone needing to escape the noise and crowd. Earplugs are available for free at the Information tent.
Will there be strobe lighting or loud music?
No, there will be no strobe lighting. Outdoor performances will be lit by natural light alone. Indoor performances will use a simple static lighting rig.
SECTION D: Support & Tickets
Is the event free?
Yes, all festival performances and workshops are free to attend. The event is open to everyone, including people with and without disabilities.
Will there be food available?
Yes, there will be food trucks on site, and bringing picnics is also welcomed!
Are assistance animals welcome?
Yes, assistance animals are welcome. Please let us know in advance if you require a water bowl or a specific quiet area for them.
