Our Rawtenstall class takes place on Mondays at 2pm at The Horse and Bamboo, Waterfoot, Rawtenstall.
A warm, energising, fun and friendly movement class for people living with Parkinson’s, their friends and their family.
It can be taken seated or standing. It is suitable for all abilities.
We start with a seated warm-up, gradually leading to exercises that can take us to standing (optional).
Dance has been shown to support physical and mental symptoms commonly associated with Parkinson’s. Research shows dance can help motor control, coordination, balance and fluidity of movement whilst also supporting general wellbeing.
This class incorporates a variety of dance styles and breathe work with music being an integral part of the session. Expect an eclectic playlist from rock to reggae, classical to pop, with everything in-between! The session is led by Helen Gould and Beth Payton.
It can be taken seated or standing.

Creating and exploring a magical and sensory world through dance, movement, music, touch, and play.
We worked with Festival of Making, Newfield School and talented designer Katie Duxbury over 7 weeks exploring themes of the sea through dance and sensory textiles. Katie worked with us in the studio to design bespoke and extraordinary pieces. The young dancers have thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the materials through dance, movement and play.
The process has been captured and we're really looking forward to sharing a short documentary created from the project shortly. Watch this space!
